Glad to be back home after a week of travel and happy to post some of my pics from Paris. Lyon wasn't worth mentioning as it was 100% work and a fun filled cab ride from hell.
Let's start with the French Flag.and a little known person who helped the USA win the war of independence. read about him below.

Arc de Triomphe and the round about that I would hate to drive in.
A better photo of the Arc, notice how it looks like a parking lot. Well, it's a parking lot moving at about 40mph.
A close up on one of the 4 epic scenes.
2nd one, they are supposed to show Gaul vs. Rome and were to celebrate Napoleon vs. Europe and French revolution.
I was happy to find a tunnel under the roundabout....I would hate to have tried to cross it without a tunnel.
Steps leading up from the tunnel.
Many names of the revolution and Napoleonic wars.
Different Angle.
Living downtown would be great, except that the housing prices are nuts. 2.5million Euros for a 2 bedroom.
More walking and houses.
The real goose bump moment when you see how huge the Eiffel Tower is.
This is an odd place to walk, it's a mix of people sucking face, gambling and selling Eiffel Tower trinkets.
Under the Eiffel Tower.
Under and at an angle.
Completely under the Tower.
Fat Tire! Ahhhhhh....Good Beer but, this was just a bike tour.
Plenty of places to soak up some sun and enjoy the shade of the Eiffel Tower.
Zoomed in past the tower....
This shot is under the tower facing the opposite direction.
A nice shot of some apartments....can you imagine living with that view.
A short walk down the river and you are able to see some amazing sights.
I was lucky to travel with a French native that used to hold the position I do today at Mack Trucks.
This Bridge might not look familiar.
Nor does this one....more to come on that in a few more photos.
I am going to frame this photo, it was probably my favorite.
This is a monument from the side of the bridge. It was to commemorate the USA vs. France soccer match but...
It has become the make shift memorial to Lady Diana Spencer.
This is under the bridge and the tunnel where she died in a car wreck.
a view up from the tunnel.
This is a huge American church.
Statues are everywhere....
All things in Paris are on an epic scale and symmetrical.
and are surrounded by more things just as large.
Tribute to Russian soldiers who fought on the side of the French during WWI.
No money was spared to construct this bridge.
Extremely ornate.
Gold covered statues glisten in the sun.
and seem ready to move.
surrounded by even more statues.
Notice the detail even in the lamps.
a view down the bridge.
Loved the detail and thought she might be holding a bottle of Chambord.
Statue of Simon Bolivar....friends in Latin America should know this guy.
Churchill, he even looks grumpy in this statue.
It seems every building has gold and amazing detail.
A much longer distance shot down the bridge.
Charles de Gaulle....I love the pose.
I had walked so far I had now gone full circle.
and after dinner got a great shot from the outside cafe I ate of the Arc at sunset.
As a Manchester United fan seeing King Eric on a movie ad really made my day and ends my blog of Paris.
